I’ve been interviewed by the lovely and talented Nuala Ní Chonchúir. Her questions were a pleasure to answer and got me thinking about all kinds of things to do with my writing. The interview covers my writing process, themes that run through my work, my favourite short story authors and individual story, balanacing writing with being a full-time parent. All this and more is just a click away.
You can read the interview over on Nuala’s blog Women Rule Writer. If you do pop over there, stick around and catch up on her other posts. Nuala’s blog is brimming with good stuff about writing and reading and life. I’d also recommend you pick up some of her short fiction or poetry if you haven’t yet. She really is rather good at this writing thing.
Thanks again for the invite Nuala.

Thoroughly enjoyed your interview at Nuala’s, Dan. I’m experimenting with the music but so far I’m just listening/thinking and forgetting to write! Perhaps there’s a two task limit to my brain……
Are you trying to write to music with words? I can’t write to songs. Has to be instrumentals. The songs I listen to before writing to get me in the mood. You should try some of the artists I mention in the interview. Explosions in the Sky, A Winged Victory for the Sullen and Olafur Arnalds are all great. And my tutor at MMU recommended Stars of the Lid. Bought some this morning and wrote all morning to them. Worked a treat.
Glad you enjoyed the interview. Thanks for taking the time to read it and comment here.
Blush blush. It was my pleasure, Dan.
