….feeling rather good this evening. Here’s why. Firstly, my copy of this turned up. Great to have a copy I can hold and smell and read:
And how’s this for a contents page to be on:
Secondly, I found out my submission to 1000 Words has been accepted and will apear sometime this month. 1000 words is celebrating National Flash Fiction Day by, over the course of May and early June, posting the best of stories written in response to the images on their Pinterest board. At the time of writing, two stories have already appeared and it’s already shaping up to be something quite special.
If how I’m feeling was a chord progression it would sound something like this:
I’m Writing a Novel – Father John Misty
‘I’m writing a novel, because it’s never been done before.’
Father John Misty is actually J. Tillman it seems, sometime drummer of Fleet Foxes and genius singer songwriter in his own right. To celebrate the above two items, I bought the album and spent the evening dancing along with my wife, my daughter and an assortment of my daughter’s favourite soft toys. Sweet.
What happened today that had you feeling good?

Well done, Dan – I’m off the order my ‘best short stories’ book now – this is just brilliant.
Thanks Jo.
That’s terrific, Dan. Well done. I can’t wait to get my own hands on the Best British Stories book.
Thanks Jen, it’s a cracking collection. Been very busy this last week but finally got some time over the next few days to sit back and enjoy a few stories. Looking forward to reading the other stories in it.
