As part of the Chinese Whisperings kerfuffle this year, I was asked to take a photo of my writing space. I thought I would share it with you folks too. This is my desk in the back corner of the front room, next to the patio doors, great for writing in the summer months, complete with rotating lcd display so I can work on texts in portrait.
Of course, what this set-up desperately needs is a room to park itself in, a room with a door, preferably sound-proofed and with a security system strong enough to stop my kids breaking in and distracting me. Maybe one day I can buy myself a luxury shed and banish myself to the garden. Shed-working ftw!!!

What figure is that on your desk? Looks MacFarlane, but I can’t tell what it is…

It’s a Big Daddy from the original Bioshock game. It was a Christmas gift from my wife and kids – the Bioshock special edition – a few years back. I use his drill arm to hang iPod cables and other such bits and bobs.
Your space is so clean! And your computer looks so cool!
Can you solve your Rubik’s cube? One of the most fascinating things about my fiance is he can solve it in a couple of minutes. No kidding.
As for my space – I work on the kitchen table. Or the bed. Or outside in the gazebo… love my laptop.
Wow – your fiance sounds like a Rubik’s wizard. I have yet to solve mine, but find the switching round of colours good for when I am pondering plot points and other writer stuff.
Ah, a superhero cup of caffeine! Really nice space there. I’m usually at the dining room table or on the balcony. Would love a writing shed. 🙂
