This autumn sees the publication of the 2022 edition of Best British Short Stories from Salt. To celebrate, WORDTheatre is presenting performances of a set of stories from across the years since the series debuted in 2011. I am thrilled that a reading of my own contribution to the series, my short story ‘Half-mown Lawn’, will be performed this coming Saturday (24th September) as part of Best British Short Stories: An All New Love. Lust. Loss.

From the WORDTheatre website:

‘Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore in Downton Abbey), Olivia Williams (The Father, The Crown), Joe Dixon (West End The Prince of Egypt) and Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton) bring to life more of our favorites from the THE BEST BRITISH SHORT STORIES series. This critically acclaimed series offers the best short stories published by British writers, whether based in the UK or elsewhere. Stories by Edward Hogan, Dan Powell & Lara Williams. Featuring vocalist Jessica Wilde with Paul Cook on piano. Produced by WORDTheatre’s Cedering Fox & Kirsty Peart. Directed by Cedering Fox. Produced by WT’s Cedering Fox & Kirsty Peart.’

Full details of the event and booking for both in-person and filmed live tickets can be found over on the WORDTheatre website.

It is brilliant to find that ‘Half-mown Lawn’ is still resonating with readers and fellow creatives and I can’t wait to watch the performances of all the stories selected.
