Been meaning to post about this for a while but life and writing keep getting in the way. I am thrilled to be able to report that, alongside fellow contributors Iain Robinson and Courtia Newland, my story from Being Dad: Stories about Fatherhood, ‘A Father’s Arms’ was nominated for a Pushcart Prize back in November of 2016. You might recall that the anthology has already been named one of the books of 2016 by CultureVultures and won the Saboteur Award 2016 for best anthology, so 2016 was an excellent year all round for this great anthology.
Both Courtia’s story ‘Sound Boys’ and Iain’s story ‘In the Marshes’ are amongst my favourites in a collection packed with quality tales of fatherhood. If you want to find out more about the nominated authors and their work, check out the Being Dad Facebook page for all the links, including one to my Thresholds interview from earlier this year, all about my story and the anthology.
Here’s to Being Dad getting a little more of the recognition it deserves.
