Very imaginative story. Whatever makes him happy, right? Hopefully payday gets there soon.
Sometimes I think it would be good to be able to lock away one’s emotions, but for the most part I’d rather hang on to them!
I like how you can read this literally (as you would in a horror/magic type piece, ie with smiles etc being physical entities) but also as a description of OCD of some sort. I hope what I said there makes sense!
Totally makes sense, mazz. I love the comments I have had about this story here and on facebook. It seems to mean something slightly different to each reader. Couldn’t ask for a better response.
thought-provoking. made me want to take one of the bags, shake it up a bit, see what happens then.
on the theme of baggage, you also might want to check out this call: “Freight – what are you carrying” by Folded Word http://folded.wordpress.com/2010/07/13/freight-what-are-you-carrying/
Glad you like the story, Dorothee, and thanks for the heads up about that.
Heading over there now. Congratulations on the publication, Dan.
Cheers, mate.
I thought it was headed for gruesome territory, like he was disposing of severed heads in the bags. That he was really comfort shopping is charming.
