Halloween is almost upon us and the Wales Art Review’s Halloween Special, full of tricks and treats, is the perfect literary accompaniment.
From walesartsreview.org:
This year we are very proud to publish an exclusive and free collection of short stories from a selection of top writers, including Niall Griffiths, Rebecca F. John, Jo Mazelis and many more. And to top it off we have some of the stories read by actors in our FMIC Podcast Special.
I am thrilled to say that I have a short short story in the collection, Jake of the Lantern, which tells the tale of eight-year old Jake who, let down by his dad, takes himself trick or treating for the first time. I also love it that this text art/excerpted poem created from words and phrases take from my piece is featured alongside the story. It gives a real flavour of the piece at a glance.
There’s loads of great authors featured in the collection, not just those mentioned above, but also stories from some of my personal writing buddies, Dan Coxon, Ashley Stokes and Angela Readman. I’m off now to give the collection a read and have plans to give the podcast a listen over a glass of wine with Mrs P this evening.
You can download the PDF of the collection and stream or download the podcast here. Enjoy. & Happy Halloween.
