Some will have heard me banging on about Deck The Halls on twitter and facebook. Here’s what it’s all about:
Literary Mix Tapes is the creative brainchild of eMergent Publishing’s co-founder and Chinese Whisperings‘ Managing Editor, Jodi Cleghorn, based on the experience of recording mix tapes for friends on a double tape deck during teenage years in the 80′s and early 90′s.
The quarterly collection is a cross pollination of music and writing, and has roots in Cleghorn’s search for new ways to inspire fiction and encourage writers to work together.
ABOUT DECK THE HALLS
The catalyst for a Christmas collection of stories (and indeed the entire idea for Literary Mix Tapes) came after Cleghorn sat through her first primary school carols night in early December 2010. You only have to look a little closer at the lyrics of ‘Deck the Halls’ to see how her imagination was fired… the Hall family’s Christmas brawl on the backdeck, Carol the troll wassailing, pirates with silly paper Christmas hats arguing over the treasure found in their crackers…

You can check out the schedule for each of the stories live release on the Literary Mixtape website by clickering here. My story, Perfect Light, is due to go live on Christmas Eve at 22.00 Australian time, or 12.00 GMT.

The whole shebang will be released as an ebook on Christmas Day. Deck the Halls will also join with 12 Days 2010 for a paperback release in July to coincide with Christmas in July celebrations, with all proceeds going to charity.
If you’re in the mood for some quality festive fiction, spend some time on the Literary Mixtapes website this Christmas.
