….I watched The Agent and thought it was a neat little film that rips nicely into the agent/publisher/gatekeeper problem within publishing. Well worth a watch if you have any interest whatsoever in writing or reading. Great script. Here’s the trailer:

….my favourite new song is F**k You from Cee-Lo Green (one half of Gnarls Barkley). As you might assume, this probably isn’t suitable for work:

…on the reading front, I finally found time to finish David Mitchell’s The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet and proper loved it. Such a multi-faceted novel, part romance, part historical drama, part heist story, part naval adventure. Might have to a proper review. Confirms Mitchell as one of my favourite novelists. Definitely in my current top five. Started Room by Emma Donoghue today. That’s shaping up to be a gripping read too.And as part of the short story challenge, I have started a collection of Chekhov’s early works. Surprisingly funny and very, very contemporary in feel. But more of that in my next SSC post.

Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday. Use the comments to share what you have been enjoying this week.
