Another story from ‘An A-Z of Possible Worlds,’ The Frontier is a sweeping story of mercenaries, border wars and betrayal. The narrative style gives the story the feel of an old legend or fable, while the key figure of the tale, The Queen, is an almost tragic figure, destroyed by her own self-importance and naivete.
